The Gantt chart view within the Project Module presents a simple clean interface with a number of tools that can be used to modify the presentation as well as add and manage task and task relationships and resources. The Gantt chart graphically presents the project tasks and relationships to each other.
- Gantt Chart Controls Menu Bar and Task Management Button Group
- Gantt view header - columns can be managed/moved by dragging in similar ways to other CompleteEmpire list views. Sort and Filter controls are available within each column. Right click to open a drop down menu for additional controls.
- Task List - can be customised using the column controls.
- Gantt bar chart display area.
- [Return to Projects] - click to return to the Project List view.
- [Create New Task] - click to add a new task to the Gantt chart.
- [Undo last action] [Redo last undone action] - click to undo/redo last undone action, red counter indicates the number of steps that can be undone.
- [Expand All] [Collapse All] - click to expand or compress sub tasks in the Gantt chart.
- [Zoom in] [Zoom out] - click to zoom in and out the Gantt chart view.
- [Zoom to fit] - click to zoom the project timeline to fit available screen space for the Gantt view.
- [Previous time span] [Next time span] - move the Gantt chart time line forward or back dependent on the level of zoom displayed.
- [Set baseline] - click to reset each baseline (1 of 3) to match the task start and duration for all tasks. Requires View Baselines selected in Settings to view.
- {PROJECT CALENDAR} - Select the calendar to be used for the project. See
- {PROJECT START} - use calendar to set the project start date.
- {Menu} - click to open drop down menu to Find a Task by Name, Export data to MS Excel or MS Project and open the Settings Menu.
- Right click the column header to open a drop down menu to manage columns and apply filters.
- Select columns to be displayed in the task list.
Right click in the Gantt header:
- Grid headings are interactive and can be sorted in ascending or descending order by clicking once. The column which has been sorted will be marked with an arrow – up for ascending and down for descending.
- The grid column can be filtered by hovering over the title and clicking the filter icon when a drop box will offer appropriate filters relevant to the column title.
- Columns can be reordered by clicking and holding down the mouse on the grid title and dragging it into its new position.
- Column widths can be adjusted by clicking and dragging the vertical border of the grid title.
Right click the task:
- A right click on a highlighted task will open a drop down list of actions.

Task Information
Be careful as click [Delete] in any of the following tabs will delete the entire task from your Gantt chart.
Click on {Information} for the selected task in the task list drop down menu or right click the Gantt bar for Task Information

General Tab
- Basic task details.
- [Save] - click to Save and or Cancel or Delete the entire task from your project. Confirmation required.
Predecessors/Successors Tab
- Click [+] - to select a predecessors/successor linked task select the link type and lead/lag.
- [Save] - click to Save and or Cancel or Delete the entire task from your project. Confirmation required.
Resources Tab
- [Assign] - click to assign resources from the drop down list to the project
- [Save] - click to Save and or Cancel or Delete the entire task from your project. Confirmation required.
Advanced Tab
- Select the calendar to use for the selected task, whether manually or automatically scheduled, scheduling mode, add constraints and dates, force effort driven scheduling, enable roll up and make the task inactive within the roll up of grouped tasks.
- [Save] - click to Save and or Cancel or Delete the entire task from your project. Confirmation required.
Reporting Tab
- {Show IN Report} - tick to display task in the report.
- {REPORT DATE FIELD} - select {Start} or {Finish} as the date to be displayed in your report.
- [Save] - click to Save and or Cancel or Delete the entire task from your project. Confirmation required.
- Set your baseline start date for up to three different baselines per task.
- Set your task duration for up to three different baselines per task.
- {REPORT DATE FIELD} - select {Start} or {Finish} as the date to be displayed in your report.
- [Save] - click to Save and or Cancel or Delete the entire task from your project. Confirmation required.
Notes Tab
- Add general notes as required associated with the selected task.
- [Save] - click to Save and or Cancel or Delete the entire task from your project. Confirmation required.
Gantt Chart controls
Right click in the Gantt chart header will open a new window.
- Right click to filter by task, zoom using a slider control.
- Zoom to a specific start/end date range or using the buttons to go to current date or jump forward or back incrementally.
- Select and hover over the task to open the task details window. Double click the task bar to open the task information window. Task Information

- Task links - displayed if selected in [Settings]. Links can be created by hovering over the end of the bar to reveal a small dots and then dragging a line from task to task to draw a link.
