New financial planning work can be created from anywhere within CompleteEmpire using the [Create New] button in the Work Panel Header (breadcrumbs bar) or via the Main Menu clicking Financial Planning>Works. The quick entry window captures the basic information required before proceeding to the financial planning work edit view where more detail can be added. Creating the work this way would be because of a direct and very specific request from the client. Ideally the work would be created via an Opportunity ( preferred) or via the Account where you can create a new Opportunity and/or search for an existing Opportunity that may be for the same work.
Best practice is advised: Create new work from the Opportunity or create a New Opportunity to capture the creator, start dates, referral fees if any, Using the Advance to Enquiry button and select the Tax Work. Either way this linkage ensure that the work is associated with the opportunity to improve tracking, referral fee management, effectiveness and efficiency. As you complete the tax work it automatically updates the opportunities. Alternatively go to the clients account and create new Tax Work and you will be presented with a list of current opportunities; filter by {Tax Planning} and see if the work relates to an existing opportunity.
- Click {Financial Planning}>{Works} - to open the Financial Planning Works view.
- Click [Create New] the + icon in the Financial Planning Works view Work Area Quick buttons to open the New Financial Planning Works window.
- OR
- Click on [Create New] in the Quick Actions button group in the Work Area Header (breadcrumb bar) and click {Financial Planning} to open the New Financial Planning Works window. This can be done from anywhere within CompeteEmpire.
- Complete as many fields as possible noting that fields outlined in red are mandatory.
- Click [OK] to save the new financial planning work. This will open the tax work at the Financial Planning Work Edit view. At this point additional information can be added to complete the task. The Edit view can be accessed anytime in the future to add or edit information as required.
At this point you have created the work and can proceed to updates the status, add additional information, create new opportunities from the work and most importantly confirm referral fees if any and prepare invoices and renewals for the work.
The Summary/Edit view for the financial planning work for the account can be accessed anytime in the future to add or edit information as required.

- Waiting on Client - is the initial status automatically assigned and visible in the Financial Planning Works view. Once the client has provided data, in this case a signed Financial Services Guide then the financial planning work can proceed.
