What is an opportunity
The opportunity or a lead is your first point of contact with someone who has expressed an interest in your product or service. They are an unqualified potential client.
An opportunity may come via a referral from a business or industry partner, email direct marketing (EDM), newsletters, web, social media etc. The contact may be acting for a business you want to do business with, or they may already work for a business you have a relationship with, in which case, an account might have already been set up. Either way the first requirement is to capture as much information as possible to ensure that the right response is provided in a timely and efficient manner. The place to do this is within the Opportunities Module of CompleteEmpire.
Opportunities should lead to Enquiries
Opportunities - think of ‘Cold and Maybe’ at this point the opportunity is unqualified lead and further questions need to be asked and verified.
Enquiry - think ‘Warm and Likely’ as at this point the opportunity has been qualified, important questions and facts recorded and the opportunity can be assigned to a particular work area or department.
Capturing as much information as possible will allow an informed decision and allocation of work to the relevant area of and person within the business with clear and specific requirements to take action in a timely manner.
