An Investment Enquiry by clients indicating an interest in a syndicate can be captured via the Opportunities module, via the ever present and accessible Work Area Quick button group or directly within the Syndicates module.
Create from within the Syndicate Module
- Click {Syndicates}>{Syndicates} in the Main Menu - to open the syndicates summary view.
- Click or scroll to Investments.
- Click [Create New] + icon in the Investments view Work Area Quick button group to open the New Investment Enquiry window.

Create from the Quick Action buttons
- Click on [Create New] in the Quick Actions button group in the Work Area Header (breadcrumb bar) and click {Investment Enquiry} to open the New Investment Enquiry window. This can be done from anywhere within CompeteEmpire.
Created via the Opportunities Module - refer to How to Create a New Opportunity
- Select from the drop down lists the Syndicate Partner, Agent, Operating Location and date as necessary.
- Select from the list of accounts the investor name, enter at least 3 characters and /or use the filter if required. Note if the investor already has an investment registered this will be indicated by a $ sign. Mandatory field.
- To create a new investor click the [Create New] button to open an additional window. See below.
- Select the Source of the enquiry and if possible the origin.
- Click [Next] to proceed to the next tab.
If you need to add a new investor (after checking that the investor does not exist in your CRM database) then a New Investor pop up window will be presented upon clicking the [Create New] [+] button.
- Complete the new investors details fields then click [Next] to proceed to the next tab.
- Click [Create New] to add a new investment.
- Syndicate - select the syndicate from the drop down list.
- Type - select the type of syndicate - Loan or Equity investor participation.
- Investment Amount - enter the investment amount.
- Units - for Equity investments enter the units purchased.
- Interest Start Date - enter start date for investment period
- Interest Rate - enter agreed interest rate.
- Term(months) - enter the investment term in months.
- [Edit] - select if you wish to edit and provide more details when the New Investment Enquiry window is closed.
- [OK] - select to save the investment and add further investments if required. Click again to toggle to remove the entry line.
- Click [Next] to move to the Appointments tab, [Previous] to return to the Enquiry Details tab.
- Tick {Would you like to create an appointment?} to open the Appointment window
- Click [Finish] to exit the New Investment Enquiry window.
From the New Investment Enquiry Appointment entry tab
- Type the subject of the Appointment (mandatory field).
- Select Appointment Type from drop down list
- Select Priority from drop down list.
- Select Date and Time for start and finish or appointment (mandatory field).
- Add attendees as required, type name to select from the drop down list.
- Tick the tick box [Tick] box {Would you like to send an invite to (name)?}.
- Add any relevant information in the note field as required.
- Click [Finish]
