The CompleteEmpire Email/EDM system utilises ‘Skins’ and a ‘Builder Module’ to assist you in branding and constructing your electronic communications.
Email Skins are like a wrapper or a template for your email content. Allows the ability create a range of email skins/templates such as corporate Header & Footer designs. These are selected when creating the email and are used in many area s of CompleteEmpire including Contact Logs where the header and footer is added to all you outgoing emails.
In this example, the company logo and underline are set as a header and then the company details, subscribe & unsubscribe are set as the footer with a ##Body## tag in the middle. This ##Body## tag will be replaced with your email content from either the an external HTML editor or the build in eMail Builder module. The default content width of 600px you may use different widths within your skin, however the content generated from the builder will be constrained to the 600px width.
- Header - corporate logo and company information etc.
- Body Text - placeholder within the email for your personalised email content which will be inserted between the header and footer.
- Footer - note that there is a requirement in all emails that are delivered en-mass to have an unsubscribe functionality and all commercial emails should have corporate sender information.
The EDM builder tool can be used to create your EDM. You can import images, externally created code use the element tools to build a professional email. There are many options and this is article is designed to give a very basic overview. It to shows you where to start your journey of creativity. - Click the tab to open the Snippit panel with a selection of predefined blocks that can be dragged and dropped into the main work area.
- Selected the block group and select the pre configured template and drag and drop into the work area
- Once the email has been created use the panel buttons on the left to [Save], [View Code] and [Go Back] the latter will return to CompleteEmpire Emails skins grid view.
[Go Back] will return to CompleteEmpire Emails skins grid view without saving your work. Click [Save] to save your work!
To reveal the various setting options click on the content block once.
- Quick icon tools - each content block can be moved, deleted edited to suite your requirements.
- Settings/ element tool - click the setting cog to open a new panel to the right. This offers a number of element options to change appearance, content attributes, format etc.
- Toolbar - text formatting, image management and preferences tools.
Create a new skin
- Click Connect>Communications>Email Skins to open the Email Skins grid view.
- Click - [Create New] to open the New Email Skin window.
- Enter a unique name for the skin.
- Click [Save & Design] - to save changes and open the EDM builder.
- Create the email EDM using the tools and widgets provided. Drag and drop from the block Snippits panel on the right.
- For the Email Skin it is essential to insert a placeholder where the body text of your email will be inserted.
- For Email Skins the three most important requirement is the insertion of the body text, links to surveys and a link for unsubscribes.
- Preview your work by clicking {Preview} in the toolbar (found by clicking the ellipsis ... {More})
- Click [Save] to save your work.
- Click [Go Back] to return to the Emails Skins grid view.
