Example Situation:-
Client A was an opportunity referral via a team member.
Sometime later Client A relocated and using a new email account made a new enquiry.
Therefore there are now two opportunities refereed to you and both are the same person but via different routes and using different email accounts.
Can you combine the opportunities?
It is not possible within CompleteEmpire to merge or combine two opportunities or two accounts however there is a recommended process for handling duplicate accounts.
- Confirm that the person is actually the same person and and not another client with the same name.
- Confirm accounts are for the same client & additional account is not a separate transaction account for just the individual rather than the marriage/relationship (For example: “John Smith” is the individual account for works relating just to John’s requirements and “John & Victoria Smith” is the marriage/relationship account for works relating to both John & Victoria’s joint requirements).
- Once confirmed, mark the account with the least amount of activity & most outdated information as inactive.
- Update the name of the account with the least amount of activity & most outdated information with XXX in front of the client’s name.
- Go to the main account with the most amount of activity and most up to dated information, scroll down to the relationships, and link the duplicate account with XXX in front of the name with the relationship type ‘Data Merge’.
