How to export an appointment in your Calendar

An appointment that exists in your calendar can be shared by exporting the information in the iCalendar format.

Note it is only possible to export a single appointment at a time. Currently it is not possible to export a calendar range.

You windows default setting for iCal files which have extension  .ics is set to Outlook. Find this is Windows settings by searching  for  'Choose default applications by file type' See Windows default settings

  1. Click {Calendar} in the Main Menu to open the Calendar view.
  2. Click to highlight the appointment you wish to export/share by email
  3. Click [Export to iCal] to export the appointment. This will download an .ics file to your computer.

Actions from this point will depend on the computer OS and the email application your using.

Outlook 365 - Classic

The Outlook appointment window will open and you can edit as if it where a new Outlook appointment.

  1. Click [Save & Close]  -  to add to your calendar as an appointment.

To forward as an email you can use the Forward tool in Outlook.

  1. Click [Forward] and select Forward as iCalendar and complete the details to send as an attachment within an email from Outlook.

Outlook 365 - New

  1. The exported ics file ordinarily is prefilled if immediately exported from CompleteEmpire.
  2. Select the calendar to import the appointment to from those available to you.
  3. Click [Import].

Make sure that outlook is the default for .ics files
