How to add a Directors ID to an account

Updated on

Due to new ASIC requirements, there is a new field in CompleteEmpire under the individuals Entity area that allows you to enter their Directors ID once you are made aware by the account holder.

A director identification number (Director ID) is a unique identifier that can only be obtained by the person in question.  It will help to prevent the use of false or fraudulent director identities.

A Director ID:

  • starts with 036, which is the 3-digit country code for Australia under International Standard ISO 3166 and ends with an 11-digit number and one ‘check’ digit for error detection.

Directors will only ever have one director ID. They'll keep it forever even if they:

  • change companies
  • stop being a director
  • change their name
  • move interstate or overseas.

To update existing accounts please follow the guide below.

A reminder to use the "Relations" in the Account area to connect individuals to their related structures (Trusts, Companies, SMSF etc). Relations is a quick way to see and move through all the structures, related accounts and associates connected to the client in various ways, formal and casual.

This is different to "Linking Entities" which is done to allow access and visibility when the CompleteEmpire Online Client Portal is opened to your clients.

There are a few ways to update an existing client who has advised and supplied their Directors ID.

In the example below Robert Grey is a director and owner/partner of Empire Builders. His relationship with Empire Builders is recorded in the Relations panel of his account.

The quickest method is to use Supersearch to identify the client

  1. Enter the clients name into Supersearch.
