The CompleteEmpire Newsletter system utilises a ‘Builder Module’ to assist you in branding and constructing your electronic communications.
Although not essential it is good practice to use template that defines your corporate image and included essential and sometimes legally required information such as unsubscribe option for the recipient.
Emails view:
- Click Connect>Communications>Newsletter to open the Newsletters grid view.
- Click [Create New] - opens the Create New window.
The EDM Builder is a WYSIWYG HTML editor that allows you to edit the content in a form that looks the same when it is displayed or printed. The alternative is to use a Code editor where text is entered to create the HTML code used to create a web page. It also allows the copy and paste of code from external text and HTML editors.
- When the [Create New] button is selected the choice is presented "Would you like to use the EDM Builder to design the newsletter?" Click [Yes]/[No].
You must decide which tools to use as it cannot be changed at a later date.
New Newsletter window:
- Title - enter a title for your reference.
- Subject - this is the subject line of your newsletter.
- Issue Date - select the issue date for the newsletter.
- Author - enter author.
- Language - select from the drop down list - English/Simplified Chinese.
- [Save] - click to save and return to the Newsletter grid view.
- Start process of preparing your news letter using the many content creation, block templates and formatting tools available. Refer to EDM Builder for a brief insight into the available options.
- Click [Save] to save the work which can always be edited later.
- Click [Go Back] to return to the Newsletter list view. You have now created your Newsletter.
EDM Builder is a built in editor that has many features and tools to enable you to build your newsletter including merge elements, pictures, links internal and external and many many more features. For further assistance in using the EDM Builder refer to your System Administrator or to Empire Software Pty Ltd. A knowledge of using similar editors and a basic understanding of newsletter creation and the use of HTML would be expected.
- Click [Edit] or click the down arrow on the highlighted newsletter in the grid view.
- Enter changes as appropriate.
- Click [Save] to save changes.
Dependent on the choices made when the email was initially created the button to edit the highlighted email will change from a ruler icon to a </> icon
- Highlight the email to be edited click [EDM Builder] if it was originally created using the EDM builder and will open it for editing.
- Highlight the email to be edited click [Code Editor] if it was originally created using the Code Editor and will open it for editing.
